Do you remember the childhood days when you would promise to be someone's best friend forever or promising to not tell Ashley that your bff likes her, but those words meant nothing unless they were sworn off with a cross of the pinkies. Those were simpler times for me, even though I made promises more often than I do nowadays. I believe it is due to the fact that I'm not one to make promises that I know I can not keep. Friday night I found myself promising something and the first thing that popped in my mind was that I better pinky promise to make it real. After all the years, this act of assurance was the only way I could really express to her that I was telling the truth. Next time you commit to something be sure to validate it just like you did in grade school. It means so much more that way.
