BRING THE RUCKUS

It's been awhile huh. Things have been busy for me the past few months, and I apologize for not keeping up with the so called blog of mine. I moved out a few months ago. I don't think I have posted since then. I'll try and get some pictures up of the new pad in the next week or so.

I ended up scoring a hellofa deal on a 2007 Ruckus about a month ago. All it took was one ride on Mark's to make me want one. I've been riding it rather than driving to work. It's fun to ride, and hits in the low 40s easily. I've already started modding, but sure does dent the wallet. Good thing it gets 100 mpg and fills up the tank for $3.

Living in a place with limited storage, and 3 other cyclists, we had a hard time trying to decide where to put all our bikes. A few weeks later, we have a rack in our living room / kitchen area.

It holds nine.

As much as I wished to keep this for myself, I bought it for Rhoda. She was suppose to be riding a black, yellow, and red Orbea, but that turned out way too big for her. What is it with sellers not knowing how to properly measure a frame?

This one was as described: 53CM Top Tube, 50CM Seat Tube. I should have it built up for her in the morning, can't wait until she see's how nice it rides.

I don't recall the last time I actually blogged. It has really been that long. Life has been good lately. So good that my time in front of the computer has diminished to nearly nothing. I'll try and fill you in with some highlights:

Mom got married.
Jared and Megan got married and had one crazy wedding.
Sidewalk slammers will really knock you out.
I own a SLT, but who knows when it will be done.
School is nuts, my schedule is fucked.
Vegas in 2 weeks.

A few weeks ago Rhoda and myself took a trip down to So Cal for a few days. We hit Disneyland and rode around Santa Monica and Venice. It was a much needed fun trip. Here is a little video I put together and some pictures.

Not too long ago, I had given up on my BlackBerry Strom. It was alright at first, but as time went by, I realized how much the phone sucked. Anh switched from his iPhone to the HTC Droid Incredible which made me take a closer look at the phone. After just a few minutes of reading reviews, I went ahead and placed my order. Sadly the phone was (and still is) currently back ordered a few weeks, so I had to patiently wait for it to show up. I took one last picture with the Storm and couldn't wait ship it off to some sucker who bought it on eBay for over $100!

The best thing about the Incredible is probably its speed. This phone is fast! No delay when loading web pages, or using Google Maps. There are also a ton of apps available in the marketplace. The camera on here is definitely something to mention. It has 8 megapixles, more than my digital camera. Here are some un-edited shots from the past few weeks with the phone.

Bedsides the somewhat crappy battery life, I think this is a must have phone for any Verizon customer.

Keirin Cycles x DVS

It has been awhile since I have picked up any shoes other than black on black authentics. This all changed when I laid eyes on the Keirin Cycles and DVS colab.

Made with a ballistic nylon upper and rubber toe, I was sold. The shoes also feature a stiff sole that has been molded with a mesh material to decrease wear. This is the perfect everyday riding shoe, even despite the white sole. Keirin Cycles also sent out a pair of wayfarer glasses and a beer cozy.

If it is love at first sight for you too, good luck getting your hands on them. They are limited to just 25 Pairs.

LINE OF SIGHT

Marcopolis found a trailer of a film by Lucas Brunelle and Benny Zenga called Line of Sight. In the video Lucas Brunelle travels the globe documenting alleycat races and every year he presents a new film at the BFF. This year for the tenth anniversary Lucas teams up with Benny Zenga to produce a film that takes it to another level.

Lucas is the undisputed master of documenting alleycats. From the vantage point of his custom helmet-cam his footage serves as insight into the best urban riders in the world in their natural element. Now Benny Zenga turns the camera back on Lucas Brunelle to bring a new dimension to this rare talent and 'international man of mystery'.

If you were watching closely enough, you would have seen me at 1:29 racing in Vegas. I would not recommend racing the night after a hard day of drinking without rest, or at least re-hydrating.

I'd love to see this film, can't wait until it's showing nearby.

NEW BAG DAY

I have been looking at the Mission Workshop bags since we got them in over at iMiNUSD and today, I finally picked one up. I had no real problem with my previous bag, a Chrome Pawn, but a friend was looking for the exact model I had, so I jumped on the opportunity to sell it. With a retail price of $220 these hand made in the U.S.A. bags are not cheap, but ditching the Chrome sure helped fund the Rambler.

My color of choice was black, but it turned out that the black was ~~sold earlier in the day. That left me with the charcoal~~ hiding in back, so I exchanged the charcoal for my preferred color. I'm not too sure if I will be able to use it to its full capacity just yet, but after a month or so of use I'll try and write up a little review.

I also picked up a new phone... an incredible one at that. Review / rant in the works.

Yesterday was not only a holiday, but also Rhoda's Birthday. After work we headed off to the annual SJF Memorial Day BBQ. In the usual fashion, there was a ton of food, booze, and friends enjoying the beautiful weather at Williams ST park. Darin put together a dope video showcasing some of the shenanigans.

OSLOH TO THE RESCUE

I have been lusting for a new pair of denim. Your typical blue jeans wouldn't do it for me this time, they had to be black, and they had to be coated. Nudies Slim Jim Dry Black Coated jeans seemed to be exactly what I wanted, beside the heavy price tag. At $185 before tax, I decided to hold out until the shop got my size back in stock. While working last week, a package came in from Osloh that had some sample denim to check out. I tried on their Black Twill Track Jean and instantly fell in love. The skinny fit is matched with a low front waistband, and higher in the back making it great for preventing plumbers crack when riding. There is also an Internal poly sueded chamois seat lining, and quilted seat reinforcement. Seeing this was icing on the cake for me since I tend to blow out the crotch area of jeans after a few months of everyday use. The 11 ounces of premium stretch high ridge black twill is coated with water repellant resin and anti-bacterial finish.

I'll update after a month or so of use to let you know how they are holing up. Thanks for making near-perfect Jeans Osloh!

SAKE TO ME

Rhoda sure did right treating me to the Sake San Jose event this past Thursday. Held in San Jose's historical Japantown, this annual Sake Fest was one I will be attending for years to come. For the small price of $40, you are give a map, a check list, and a wristband that allows you to sample Sake in 28 different locations all within a few blocks of each other. The best way to describe this event would be an alleycat on foot, where at each checkpoint you ~~have~~ want to drink as much Sake as possible in the shortest amount of time. Some booths had 2 or 3 kinds to try, and if you could sweet talk the workers, you could get second taste if one really tickled your fancy. The streets packed with wandering people, both old and young, but equally intoxicated. The vibe was great. I loved how Sake seemed to put everyone in a real feel good mood.

After sampling 40 or so different kinds of sake, we ate dinner at Hukilau. I batted my eyelashes at the waitress in order to convince her that for me, they really should serve me half sesame and half Pele style Hukilau Chicken. Despite the doubts from everyone at the table, I got my way, and had a great meal. Rhoda opted for Da Hawaiian Burrito which I woke up craving the next morning. I'll go back for one of my own the next time I'm in the area.

The rain hit on Tuesday which made for a pretty sad day. This all changed when I realized Dave and Busters was giving away free $10 cards. The Tuesday Night Ride also got switched moved to a night of games and drinks which made for a wild time.

We started with some drinks that go by the name Fuck Yo Couch.

One more and I probably would. This things were 90% alcohol.

Ryan and Andrew got down on virtual tennis.

Tanner has a crazy fast finger.

I suck at this game, but somehow Andrew managed to get the most tickets while jumping with one foot and falling to the left. Words can't really explain how he did it, but it was an amazing sight.

How Bird fit in here still puzzles us all.

Wednesday I was itching for a ride. A rlx session at Jim's led us to Chipolte. My carnitas burrito was pretty damn good, but Maurice needed two because he claims the size was sub par. After we were all fully satisfied, we did a short ride to Hellyer Velodrome to catch some of the races. Tim, Marc, and Cwiss were out there reppin for SJF. Scratch that, Marc was wearing his MASH jersey. Must have been the reason why dude straight yelled "F YOU" at him across the track as he got over taken and dropped by Marc in a Miss-N-Out race. He was pissssed.

I really need to get back on the track.

That's right. I am home from my last final and damn it feels good to not have to worry about school for a few months. I stopped by the DMV on my way home today and they actually took care of me for once. A call to Sacramento got things sorted out. I can legally drive people in my car now, and can drive to places other than work and school. Sweet talking the clerk must have helped because she waved my fees... score!

The weather out side isn't looking much like a week away from June. The rain is starting up here in San Jose, and snow is expected in the Sierras. Wake up mother nature, it isn't February anymore!

I don't really feel like telling you about the past week, so I will show you some pictures to make up for it.

THIS IS THE LIFE

I was up bright and early for the Thursday Morning Ride with Jeff, but it just so happened that Bike to Work Day was on the same day. We met up with a few SJFers at a little after 7 and headed out to some energizer stations. This year companies had to pay for just about everything they gave out so there was an abundance of coffee cake, fruit, and powerbars. I did manage to get some free swag on our 25 mile loop.

After a long day working both jobs, I met with JP and Andrew then headed over to 4th Street pizza for some pre-gaming. Kevin had set up a Thursday Night Social that consisted of a bunch of us singing the worst Lady Gaga cover you will ever hear. Good thing there is a video of it, so your eyes can burn at the same time as your ears. Great times at Bamboo 7.

Friday I was spoiled at work once again by Rhoda. I was too hungry to snap a picture of the great Thai food she brought me for lunch, but this amazing circular puff filled with chocolate stuff was dessert.

After I got off work, we attempted to watch The Hurt Locker, but Brass Monkeys made it too difficult to focus on the movie.

Saturday morning was the first annual Via Velo held by The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and the City of San José. San Fernando was closed off to traffic for what was sorta like a bike street fair. iMiNUSD, a few other bike shops, a few food joints, some charities, and other miscellaneous organizations had booths set up.

Some booths had great freebies, like finding out how fucked up your spine is.

Spin a wheel to win a bag when you really want a coupon for pizza.

Take a picture with real live Mormons on fixies.

Throw a bag of beans in a corn hole.

This guy came by our booth with a crazy set up. An electric bike that easily hits 40+ and a full on navigation mounted on his bars. I want one.

SJFD was also out there reppin for the Sharks.

Anna had a good idea for Sunday morning before the game, bottomless mimosas at Flames. This place was like a party with 80's music, great company, great food, and servers walking around with pitchers of mimosas making sure your glass is always full. Reggie, Ryan, JP, Rhoda, and myself had a few too much to drink on a Sunday before noon. I can't wait for everyone to come out next time.

We headed to Mark and Jeff's to catch the game, where we lost. I don't want to talk about it, but we will get um Tuesday I'm sure.

Work was a drag, but I came home to exactly what I was craving for dinner, spaghetti. My 1 hour nap turned into 5, so now I'm wide awake trying to remember anything else that happened over the past few days. I'm pretty sure I got the majority of it, but here are a few more random pictures.

It seems as if I haven't posted in awhile. I think it is partly because there is too much too write about, and also the fact that I don't really have the time to write anything that would seem worth reading. The past week or so has been nothing but great. Okay maybe work was ehh and school was stressful, but besides that, life is good. A few highlights: 4 in the net and (free) pizza you get, Cinco de Mayo gets me every year, Chinese food is amazing despite being too drunk to taste it, he gets him to the Greek (thanks Ryan), the Sharks are going to round 3, it's raining in May and somehow I don't see her or even hear her voice and she can make me smile. Here are random pictures I snapped on the blackberry.

A few weeks ago, Jeff, Nahn, and myself were asked to do a photo shoot for Pake bikes. We shot for an hour or so, riding around downtown San Jose. The pictures were posted on their blog, but they seemed to leave something out of every shot, our heads. I know the bikes are the main focus, but it would have been cool if they left us in there.

I really do like the picture they used. The black and neon bike looks great with the Chub x iMiNUSD wheels. Hopefully the pictures will be used for more than just their blog.

It was another good Wednesday. I had a Quantitative Business Analysis test first thing in the morning which I feel pretty confident about. My next two classes were a blur because I kept thinking about 2:45 when I could finally eat. 4 in the net, pizza I get, thanks to the Sharks beating the Avs 5-0 at game 5. Rhoda and myself enjoyed the free pizza and $5 pitcher before our night classes.

After class, we headed to Palo Alto to catch a screening of Exit Through The Gift Shop. I was very impressed with the movie. I don't want to give any of it away, but if you have a chance, please go see it.

I skipped on the Thursday morning ride, sorry Jeff, to get in a few extra hours of sleep. Work at iMiNUSD was good. The MLS 15mm sockets for your U-lock are now available for purchase. This perfect tool will fit both Kryptonite Evo/Classic and also OnGuard Bulldog U-locks. I can't wait for the one with the allen wrench.

I left the shop early to make it to my other job early, so I could leave from there early to catch the Sharks game. It just so happened that Mark had extra tickets to the game. After twenty or so minutes of trying to decide whether or not to go, Rhoda and myself rushed downtown to watch the first game of round 2 against the Red Wings. I'm sure glad we went because it was such a good game. 3 goals in the first had the crowd louder than I have hear before. We ended up victorious with a final score of 4-3.

We celebrated the win and said our goodbyes to Reggie at the usual Thursday spot. Even though you are only going to be in SF, were gonna miss you Reggie.

Now it is Friday and after a long day at work I decided to stay home to rest/blog/eat, you know... everything I shouldn't be doing on a Friday night. I hope you all are having just as good of a week as I am. If not, you still have the weekend.

Last night I saw a picture of a banana case on SJF. I have always thought having one would be good, since I don't care much for bruised bananas and often put one in my bag before heading out for the day. I asked Rhoda if she knew where I could find one on the cheaps. She just so happened to have one laying around that didn't get much use. I will be sure to change that. Thanks again!

I'm not too sure how to describe these past few days. I do know for sure that they were ohh so fun.

Thursday morning started off with the usual pre-work ride with Jeff. We spent the next few hours building bikes, watching Anh scratch who knows how many dollars worth of scratchers, and searching for Sharks tickets on craigslist. We looked for 4 tickets, but I only happened to find a pair. I took Rhoda over Jeff, being that it was her first game ever and all (sorry Jeff). Being a Sharks fan for as long as I could remember, I had never been to a playoff game. This was the prefect time to go. Everyone who attended received "get loud" shirt, and I also managed to get a Sharks playoff shirt when Sharkie was launching them to the upper deck. We ended up beating the Avalanche 5-0 making it one hellofa game.

After the game we decided to meet up with the guys which was nothing but good times.

After work Friday, I to stay in to get the around the house stuff done.

Saturday I couldn't wait to get off work to catch Game 6 of the Sharks vs. Avalanche series. Mark, Anna, and Jeff were kind enough to have a few of us over with enough food and beer to go around. There were some scary moments in the game, but we ended up with a huge win to knock the Avs out of the playoffs. The beard is starting to get itchy, but it will be worth it when we bring the cup home.

My day started off with some studying in the morning, then a short drive to downtown, and a wet ride to campus. My legs were soaked for a good hour. After class, 3 pancakes, 2 eggs sunny side up, sausage, a monte cristo, and great company sure made up for it. The food was sooo good I forgot to snap a picture. Just imagine the best breakfast / deep fried sandwich you have ever seen, and that's what I had for lunch.

I had a test for Business 130. Sure enough the chapter I knew the most on was hardly on the exam. I hope I did alright. In the usual Wednesday fashion, we headed off to do something. Tonight was Date Night.....the movie. We killed some time shopping since we were an hour early. I copped a new hat. I was well over due for one.

The movie itself was so so, but everything else was fun!

Going back into time a day, yesterday was 4/20. No I did not "relax" I did however catch MoGo's while they were still serving lunch right across from SJSU. If you don't know about, here is some info on them: "MoGo BBQ is a mobile food truck company serving up Korean-style BBQ in our taco truck serving the San Francisco Bay Area: San Jose, Oakland, Berkeley, Palo Alto, and more." I had only enough for 1 short rib taco, but luckily Andrew loaned me and extra buck for I could get 2. Don't worry Andrew, I know you haven't forgotten, and neither have I. Before I state my opinion, or believe the hype, I'm going to try a burrito, then report back to you on how I feel about MoGo's.

On monday I decided to tear apart the car. It was more for a piece of mind rather than actually needing to be repaired. The timing belt, water pump and few other parts were replaced with the help of Javi and the internet. It was much more of a mess than what you see here, trust me.

This week has been great so far, lets keep it going.

DON'T LET THE BOWTIE FOOL YOU

This weekend was pretty eventful. Thursday started off with the usual morning ride, work, work, then party.

Friday was the Gnarcotix movie premier at iMiNUSD. I had seen the video before, so I chilled in the back and watched the Sharks game streaming on a computer while 150+ people were packed inside the store. The bike pile outside was nuts!

After the shop was cleaned up, we watched Kick Ass. I was more than impressed with this movie. Expecting an hour and a half worth of crap, I received quality humor, action, and a whole bunch of other entertaining stuff.

Saturday was long. Work dragged. Voodoo was crack.

Today the Sharks disappointed millions.

Despite possibly failing a quantitative business analysis quiz first thing Wednesday morning, I had the rest of the day to look forward too. 2:45 took forever to come, but the wait was worth it.

Diving in circles in San Francisco looking for a place to eat led us Ike's.

Yes the sandwiches are really worth it. I had the manajatwa, she had nacho boy. What better than Sapporo, canned Red Stripe, and a beautiful view to enjoy the one of a kind lunch.

We wandered, then ended up in Japantown.

Might as well keep it going with a bottle of Jager.

Before we knew it, it was showtime!

DOUBLE DON'T

Jeff and myself did our usual Tuesday morning ride before work at iMiNUSD. Today our wolf pack grew to 3, with the company of Tanner, who seemed to be in way better shape than both of us. We rode to Fowler Park, and tried to enjoy the view while catching our breath.

On the ride back to the shop, we passed 2 or 3 KFCs. Plastered all over was the picture of 2 pieces of chicken with cheese and bacon in between. This crazy contraption is called the Double Down. Some discribe it as a "artery clogger". I call it something I tried and will not have again.

It looks nothing like the ad. It was not horrible, but not great. I'll just call it alright. With a price point of $4.99 I wont be having another.

I've been sick since Easter. Nothing major, just a stuffy/runny nose and mild cough, but it still sucks. The rain started up again today, but hopefully wont last for long. Let me try and fill you in with what happened this past week.

Easter the fam came over. I stuffed my face then passed out due to going out the night before. Had class on Monday. Tuesday started off right with a morning ride with Jeff before we start work at iMiNUSD. We did a short 20 miles or so to Santana and downtown Campbell. Wednesday I had class all day, but enjoyed catching a movie after. More so the company rather than the movie (Clash of the Titans) but go watch it... you may like it more than I did. Thursday Jeff and myself rode again, then I had work at both jobs. A night out was much need, but didn't quite go as one would have hoped. Friday worked then had dinner at JP's. Thanks again, the ribs were crack! Saturday was a TAS night out, but I think we need a round two soon. Slow Sunday at work, then home to do homework. Do you remember the childhood days when you would promise to be someone's best friend forever or promising to not tell Ashley that your bff likes her, but those words meant nothing unless they were sworn off with a cross of the pinkies. Those were simpler times for me, even though I made promises more often than I do nowadays. I believe it is due to the fact that I'm not one to make promises that I know I can not keep. Friday night I found myself promising something and the first thing that popped in my mind was that I better pinky promise to make it real. After all the years, this act of assurance was the only way I could really express to her that I was telling the truth. Next time you commit to something be sure to validate it just like you did in grade school. It means so much more that way.

It has been awhile since I have actually blogged anything of major importance. Really what is important to me, may not be to you, so I guess it doesn't matter either way. I'll just tell you that life has been crazy lately. Good and bad crazy. The kind of crazy that drains you physically because you find yourself waking up blanket-less on a couch with just a few hours of sleep, only to drive home still slightly intoxicated, to get ready for an 8 hour day at work while not fully knowing what really happened last night. The kind of crazy that has you wishing you saw that one person who seems to matter, every single day. The kind of crazy that has you working two jobs because you think you have enough extra time in your life to do so, when you know the whole time that you really don't.
Would I take things any other way right now?

I was itching to get back in the saddle today. Due to class and hanging out at the shop, it was dark by the time I got home. A night ride by myself was just what I needed. For some reason I felt like this the whole 15 miles or so.

I did not feel like I was actually on my bike tonight. I dont think even once I thought about the ride itself. I usually listen to music while riding to help clear my mind, or give me that extra burst of energy. Tonight was another story. The sounds of My American Heart kept me over-analyzing everything going on in my life as of now. It seemed like I could relate to every song. Not the best choice of albums for the ride. Take two tomorrow. "I think I'll take the long way home. I'll sit up straight, sit up straight... Straighten up and get out."

For me, it's a hard one. I need to be somewhat physically attracted to the girl. Looking right will only get your foot in the door with me though. Intelligence, or lack there of will decide whether or not the door opens more, or shuts right in your face. I also need to be able to hold a conversation with her. I read once that you will be happier if you cut the small talk, and talk about what's really important in life. I think that's why I like talking to you. Looks and intelligence are my two. I finally ordered the part I needed to get the roof rack on the Avant. I was able to use the size large fairing I had by taking the dremel to it, cutting 3 or so inches off each side, then shaping it to look like it was never cut. I wanted to make sure the fairing would sit in front of the sunroof, especially since this is my first car with one and I find myself using it often. It fits with just 2 centimeters to spare. It's still not done, I'll be painting the silver pieces black to complete the look.

LIFE IS LOOKING UP

I woke up a few minutes early today in order to make sure I could eat a bowl of Raisin Brand Crunch. I heard that it is bad to start your day off without eating. Lucky for me, I enjoyed my cereal and continued on getting ready.

Starting at 10:30, I have three back to back classes. Business 190 was alright. I forgot my book, but the girl next to me was kind enough to share. During Business 140, Phillip was keeping me distracted while I was trying to study for a midterm. I was doing some work in the lab for Business 188, but my mind was thinking of nothing but food.

After 2:45 finally came, I met with Rhoda for some lunch. I hoped for Chinese food, but my favorite restaurant just happens to be closed from 3 to 5 everyday. I guess since Chinese food was out of the picture, why not pizza? I asked her is she had ever been to 4th Street, and to my amazement, she had not. Pizza it is! We walked the 6 or so blocks to the corner of 4th and Santa Clara. A small pizza, half BBQ chicken / half creamy garlic chicken, and two $1 pints was the perfect meal. I was stuffed after 3 slices.

After lunch we made our way down to the shop to ~~study~~ pretend to study/hangout. The rats and friends were outside tarcking, along with other usuals. Before I knew it, there was just 10 minutes before my night class.

I had a huge test at 6 for Business 130. I was nervous, and probably not well prepared, but I did much better than expected. After the test, JP and myself met up with the guys not playing polo (someone forgot a ball). It was freezing so we left early to watch the Gnarcotix video. That is right, it is finished and I saw it before you! Sean even shouted me out in the credits.....THANKS SEAN! I was really impressed with the video. It was filmed more in a skateboarding video style, not like the real artsy ones that have been dropping lately. Keep your eyes out for a premier in the San Jose area very soon.

Hump day is officially over, and it sure was a great one.

The unexpected fork in the road.
Where do you go? Continue on the left, or verge over to the right to an unfamiliar path? Keep in mind this new path is not quite as predictable. What may be waiting for you ahead might be what you have always ~~wanted~~ needed. Then again, it may be what you have never expected. Who really knows? You may be perfectly fine with what you can see on the current path. Stay on the left, which is downward sloping, forcing you to the bottom. You turn around only to look up at the path you just traveled. Now where do you go from here?
Back at the fork, look over to the right. Simply because it is up hill does not necessarily mean it is more difficult. It is a path leading you to top. Climb upward until you can't go any further. Now take a look around. The air may be thin, but imagine the beautiful view. While there, you can take in a deep breath and truly realize everything looks better from above. In a situation like this, one must trust their gut.

A WET HUMPDAY

I woke up early to study, earlier than I had planed, thanks to all the cats and dogs falling from the sky. Lucky for me the weather let up right when I got to school. The 8 or so block ride from JP's to campus was rather relaxing with light sprinkles and the sun shining. I had a test in Quantitative Business Analysis that was ehh, but other than that class was pretty cool.

After my 3 classes I headed over to the shop, then to La Vic's for a carnitas burrito. Upon entering I noticed the keep out sign was off the stairs to the second floor. Downstairs was a college student infested taqueria, but up stairs was somewhat nicely decorated, and empty, besides myself and my good company. After eating we made a mad dash back to the shop where it seemed as if there was a party. Everyone was hiding out from the rain.

Kinda.

My new key shell came in today. For just $16 shipped from eBay, I couldn't pass up having a new key shell considering my current one was stuck open and had worn buttons. Flip keys are no fun if you can't open and close them 100 times a day.

Upon tearing apart my original key fob, I saw that I could swap blades rather than having to get the new one cut at the stealership. This would have worked out great if I had the proper tools. I ended up using the tip of a dart to push the hallow pin out to free the uncut blade. With a heavy hand I pounded out the pin not noticing I was stretching the same piece of metal that was broken on my original key. Lucky for me, JB Weld was invented, a little around the old key in the new fob and hopefully it will hold up.

The aftermarket shell doesn't feel as good as the OEM one. It has a cheaper plastic feel and is quite a bit lighter. For a savings of more than $150 if I would have gone to the dealership for a new key, I think it will work out just fine.

It was hard getting back into the swing of things today. Especially since last week I only went to one class. After my three today I headed to iMiNUSD where Mark was standing with the highly anticipated Gorilla Kilroy frame.

Can't you just see the excitement on his face. Okay, maybe not at this very moment, or the one where he discovered 2 of the 4 frames had minor dings that occurred in shipping, but all for were sold in under 2 hours. The Kilroy is one hellofa tarck frame.
If you don't know, just ask Nhan.

His was done asap, and looking right.

I wanted to also take a second out to say thanks to a dear friend of mine. I was in a tight situation earlier, and despite my pride I took your assistance. For that I am truly grateful.

A STIFFY

I woke up with a stiffy today. No, not that kind ya pervs, a stiff neck. There is one muscle to blame for this intense pain called the lavatory scapula. It runs up the back and side of your neck and a stiff neck is the shortening of this muscle.

I read that a stiff neck can be caused by many things such as cool air hitting the neck (late night bike ride), not enough pillow support (I sleep with a flat pillow), sitting in a chair where the arm rests are too high (check), and last but not least, stress.

My stress level was higher than average last night while trying to decide if I should head to Vegas at 3 AM for the Magic trade show with Azuki. Keep in mind I got invited at midnight. As much fun as I had last year, I should have gone. I am trying to focus more on school and work... to keep my priorities straight. The sad thing is I missed 2 out of my 3 classes today because I overslept. The day wasn't a total bummer. I went to my last class, then a nice 2 hour walk on the Las Gatos trail. It was nice to enjoy the great weather and the good company was a huge plus.

I'm sitting here doped up on pain reliever with a heat pad, but neither of the two seem to be working. Maybe I should grab a glass of wine or three and call it a night.

WEEKEND WRAP-UP

It's been some hellofa past few days. I'll try and sum it up to the best of my memory.

Thursday:
The usual, work then Sabor.

Friday:
I worked a few hours then headed to 300 for some bowling. Not only were we there to bowl, but also to celebrate Jen's Birthday. Sake, Henn, Svedca, and good company made for one wild game. Too bad I was too into it to snap any action shots.

After the game we headed back to my place for a little after party.

Saturday:
I awoke to a sardine like bed, said my goodbyes then went right back to sleep. I woke again at 12:11. The First Date race starts in just 49 minutes, and I am nowhere near ready. I put on the bibs and jersey, brush my teeth, chug a water, load the Cramerotti, and head downtown. I made it with a few minutes to spare. Just enough time to stretch and renegade a beer.

The race was about 27 miles with 5 checkpoints:
4th St. Bowl (4th & Gish)
Frozo's Frozen Yogurt (Lafayette & Franklin)
Century 21 Theater (Winchester near Santana Row)
Orchard Valley Coffee (dt campbell)
The Boiling Crab (Capital Exp. & Silver Creek)

I rode with Darin, Rex, Bill Tran, Greg, and Jim for most the race. Darin and I joined Team Out Of Shape, and I'm pretty sure I was the only member of Team I'm Still Drunk. If you couldn't figure it out already, I had a hard hour and thirty six minutes.

Towards the end of the race we decided to slow pace it. The funny thing is finishing 10th and 11th, myself and Darin were only 3 minutes behind Tim who finished 1st.

Congrats again on the win Tim. A huge thanks to Kevin, Mark, and everyone else who help make this a great alleycat.

A few hours at work, then John, JP, Jason and myself headed to Voodoo for Jason's B-Day. Sam outdid herself again by quenching our thirst all night long.

Sunday:
Work was fun even though it is Valentine's Day. Helping girls pick out a scent for their husbands, boyfriends, and ex-boyfriends was quite entertaining. I spent this year without a Valentine. I'm not huge on the Hallmark holiday anyways. Why is there a set day of the year to say I love you or do something sweet for the ones you love? Bitter much? Ugh...maybe. Thankfully for me, John and JP were free tonight. We had a Taco Bell and Tecate dinner and now I'm sitting here blogging while watching Entourage. Quote of the night from the show, "it's not cheating if you don't fall in love with them. So don't fall in love with me."

I started the weekend off just right, with a ride.

I took the Cramerotti out for an 18 mile loop around South San Jose on Friday morning. I usually only ride this bike on the track, so the gearing is set to 49x15. Being out of shape and on a track gear was not a good mix. Thankfully I had a nice play list on the iPod to keep me going.

After arriving to work I headed over to the other building to drop off a paper. Lucky for me, Sahar has just as big a sweet tooth as I do.

We couldn't decide on candy or cookies, so we got both.

Later in the evening somehow I ended up at The Workout. I didn't plan on going out, but had a fun time regardless. It was good bumping into some friends, old and new. "Never order a cranberry and vodka around me!"

An 8 hour shift on Saturday sucked. Nothing a bottle of blueberry vodka and 2 PBR tall cans can't fix. JP and I pregamed then headed to Voodoo for the 1st Saturday party. As expected, it sure didn't disappoint.

Sunday was slow at work, so I cut out early to catch the big game. I wasn't much into the game, more so the commercials. I can't say I was too impressed with either, but the food and good company made for a great time. We had bacon wrapped grilled onion hot dogs, full moon, watermelon beer, hot wings from Wing Stop, chips, cookies, and endless sweets.

NEW APP DAY

I'm not big on applications for my BlackBerry. I actually only use a few: Facebook, OpenBeak (Twitter), Google Maps, and B of A. That all changed today. A new app called Nimbuzz was released recently changing the whole way one communicates on a BB. Nimbuzz is the first application that combines every form of chat into one. I used mobile AIM, but didn't every think there would be a way to talk with people who are sitting at their home computers on Facebook, while I am on my phone. Now I can.

I spent the whole 5 hours at work today playing with this app, and also ScreenShot which allows you to to take a picture of your exact screen, like the one above. While using Nimbuzz I was having a hilarious conversation with Lily. At that time I was also playing with a magic 8 ball. I asked her if she wanted me to ask it a question on her behalf. My good friends Jared and Megan are tying the knot. I am more than happy that they have found the person who they wish to spend the rest of their life with. I believe it was ~~a Tuesday night ride~~ the first SJF alleycat where Jared first laid eyes on Megan. From that day on I have seen nothing but pure happiness and joy from both of them. Congrats again on the engagement, I can't wait for the wedding!

He is probably the coolest cat ever. He was named after Chewbacca due to his moew as a kitten sounding like everything but a meow. Tonight he meowed... a true meow. I hear it from him only once every few months. Tonight he also chose to spoon with my foot rather than lay on my keyboard. Good thing for him, he now will get his 15 minutes of fame.
