SJ ROADIES

The Colnago is finally done. Not exactly how I want it built up, but my knees sure are thanking me after this build.

Colnago Decor

I think I'll give the Concept a rest and start using this as my daily ride.

ASIAN GOURMET

Was my meal of choice after my first 3 classes of the Spring 2010 semester. It sure wasn't a healthy one, but I think I earned it after riding the past few nights, rain and all.

If you look closer at the milk tea, you will find they too are hopping on the bandwagon. A Keirin style rider on a track bike equipped with a tri-spoke front and a disc rear.

Movement?

When will it stop? No time soon that's for sure.

VANS RAIN SHOE

Yet another Vans shoe I can't wait to drop. A low top sneaker made out of rain boot material. These are perfect for those 14 or so days a year that it rains in San Jose. The ol canvas gets my socks wet.

DRIP

JP posted this video yesterday of Craig Costello that I found quite inspirational.

I don't want to give my project away just yet, but I'll be sure to post about it once it's completed.

THE FIRST DATE

That's right, it's race time again. The new series, The Relationship, starts on February 13th with The First Date. Too bad I don't have a date to the race. That may or may not be a good thing.

Be sure to come out to race, ride, or even donate to Haiti Relief.

THE CAPITOL

Yesterday a few us us decided to take the two hour drive to Sacramento to visit our good friend Cameron aka Wah-Wah.

TAS in Sac

We arrived at around 9:00 PM and started the party right away. After the pre-drinking, we headed to downtown Sac. I believe our final destination was a place called Dream. Super slummy pretty much sums it up. Not quite my cup of tea, but it seemed like the locals enjoyed it, especially the barefoot couple. Regardless of where we went, it was still a fun night. Thanks for having us Wah, we sure will miss you.

On the way home, Reggie insisted that we stop in Davis for sushi. Me and sea food don't mix well, but I knew I could find something there to eat. Fuji Sushi Boat & Buffet is home of the all you can eat for $12.95 lunch special. We sure got our money's worth.

THE RI-DE SHIRT

Annamarie Cabarloc shot some pictures of me in an iMiNUSD RI-DE shirt a while back. She put it on her flickr and next thing you know, it pops up on Pedal Consumption. Thanks again for the great photo Anna, you're the best!

THE BIKE PORTER

Yet another future release I am really looking forward to, The Bike Porter. Baskets are great, I rode with one for quite some time. It's nice to see others feel the same way and combined a basket directly into the handlebars. Goodmorning Technology sure did these right. Dropping Spring 2010.

BEAT

It started Wednesday with a random night out. Too much to drink, again. Despite this picture, I had a great time.

The Finger

Thursday night was spent at Sabor for Phillip's B-Day. It was great catching up with some old faces. I missed you guys.

Friday was Bike Party. Yes, I attended the drunken mess on two wheels that is a mobile party through the streets of San Jose. If you can't beat um, join um? With a turnout of around 1000 people, that I did. A bottle of wine, the Colnago, and good company made me remember that Bike Party can be fun.

Last night was more than just a party at Motif. It was a goodbye celebration for Theresa Tran. Everyone's favorite BFF is officially gone. Some of you may know that Theresa is my ex... ex-favorite! She replaced me awhile back, but I didn't take it to heart. I still like her just about the same as I did before. You will be greatly missed, but I hope you find whatever it was you went looking for in the O.C. See you soon ex!

I'll Miss You

I SEE YOU

I knew you were doing big things out there on those two wheels.

I can't wait to see the finished project.
Good shit lil one.

YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO FINE

Last night JP and myself headed over to Mark and Anna's to watch the Sharks vs Kings game. On our way we stopped by Safeway for some beverages. J got the beer, I got the wine. I am not quite the wine snob, so I looked at all the bottles and picked one that looked cool.

Red

I ended up with Red, a 2005 by the St. Francis Winery. I was surprised to see that Red was a mix of many different wines. It's a blend of 48% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, 3% Zinfandel and 6 % Mixed Blacks (Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Alicante, Malbec). I wouldn't go as far as calling the wine great, but for the sale price of $7 it was quite tasty. I think I will keep up with my strategy of picking the bottles that catch my eye. So far it's working in my favor.

IT'S MAGIC

After needing a new mouse for a few months, I finally picked up Apple's Magic Mouse. I am really quite impressed. Just look at this thing.

It's Magic

I think I will let Apple tell you about it. "Magic Mouse — with its low-profile design and seamless top shell — is so sleek and dramatically different, it brings a whole new feel to the way you get around on your Mac. You can’t help but marvel at its smooth, buttonless appearance. Then you touch it and instantly appreciate how good it feels in your hand. But it’s when you start using Magic Mouse that everything comes together.

The Multi-Touch area covers the top surface of Magic Mouse, and the mouse itself is the button. Scroll in any direction with one finger, swipe through web pages and photos with two, and click and double-click anywhere. Inside Magic Mouse is a chip that tells it exactly what you want to do. Which means Magic Mouse won’t confuse a scroll with a swipe. It even knows when you’re just resting your hand on it."

If you don't own yet, you should.

NEED A LIGHT?

My friend Mark over at iMiNUSD just dropped some dope lighters for all you smokers. Head over to 112 Paseo de San Antonio to cop yours before they are gone.

SAAWEEEET

I recently came up on some carbon Sugino 75 road bike brake levers for the Colnago. Rignt now on Yahoo Japan auctions you can bid for the full Sugino 75 8 speed groupset.

JUST HOW I WANT HER

I finally finished up my baby. The sparkly green 1993 Cannondale Track bike that has been boxed away for months in my garage. I was in L.A. with SJF when we hit a local swap meet. I happened to have my blue C'dale with me when an older gentleman started talking to me about my bike. We both were saying how we really loved everything about the older Cannondale Tracks. Then he asked if I would be interested in another. YES!!! He continues to say it is a 55cm and green. I think my heart stopped for a second. Rather that discussing a price, we just exchanged info and went on with our day. I received a call from him 2 days later, the day we were heading back to San Jose, and we planned to meet up. Back at the Encino Velodrome, I was blown away by the amazing condition of the frame. He told me his asking price, and I paid. No need to bargain for such a beauty. I took my time building it up to close to original condition minus the hoops and saddle. She is everything I could have ever hoped for in a bike.

DUH DUN....DUH DUN

Usually the tone of the HP Pavilion on any given sharks game. Tonight was another story.

I ended up with some tickets for the L.A. Kings vs Sharks game last night. Being that Linda had never been to a game before, I knew she would be the right person to take along with me. We started the night out with happy hour at Chevy's. One margarita wasn't quite enough, so we downed some Skyy Vodka personals and headed to the tank.

Pre Game

We had decent seats in the lower bowl and were both more than excited to be watching the game live.

Sharks Seats

The mood quickly changed as the Kings scored 3 goals in the last 5 minutes of the 1st period. At the intermission we thought to ourselves, "lets go grab a beer and we'll come back and get um in the 2nd." Things didn't quite work out as planned.

1-04-2010 Sharks Game-3

The Sharks went into the 3rd period down 5-0. Just 13 seconds into the 3rd, the Kings score again. 6-0 are you kidding me? Being on a hot streak with 8 straight wins, all teams are playing their hardest to beat the Sharks, but being down by so many points is unheard of. The Sharks were playing well, just not making the goals happen. Linda sat in "her lucky number 7" seat while I sat in seat number 8. Little did she know I should have sat in her seat the whole time. We switched seats then BAM! 2 goals by the Sharks. Being able to score more would be a miracle. It didn't happen.

So Sad

Rather than walking to the car, we hopped in a pedicab. This guy was nuts!

Off-roading and cutting off cars was how he earned his generous pay.

Mark and Anna were also at the game, and since my car was parked right by their place, we decided to stop by to say hello.

1-04-2010 Sharks Game-9

We enjoyed a glass of wine and green tea KitKats. I have been longing for the taste of this Japanese version of one of my favorite candy bars and lucky for me, Mark just happened to have some.

Despite the loss, I had a great time. Hopefully the next game I attend we will come out on top.

STARTING 2010 RIGHT

I started a list of memories from 2009, but decided to delete them all. Last year was great, but twenty ten has been nothing but good for me. Rather than looking back in time, I am going to keep looking forward to a year of opportunity.

After some convincing, I talked my friends into attending Mass 2010, an event held at David's Restaurant in Santa Clara. Being the last day of the year, we did it up. A room at the Hilton, and alcohol galore got our night started at 6.

Getting ready in one room with 12 people was reminiscent of previous Vegas trips. The guys sat around and watched TV as the girls put their faces on.

We headed to the Party around 10 and were greeted the sounds of Philtered Soul. We headed directly to the photo booth before the craziness began. I left my camera at the hotel, so this is one of the few pictures I have from the party.

I was running around, shaking a leg on the two dance floors and next thing I knew... 10, 9, 8. As I heard the countdown I remembered that they say how you spend New Year's Eve is how you will spend the entire year. Good for me that as the clock hit 12:00:00 I was exactly how I wanted to be, extremely happy and with great company. I can't wait for the rest of the year.
